Saluting Chalet Studio- Janet & Alan Arseneault

chalet

Check out the dynamite duo!

For over 18 years, we have watched Chalet Studio emerge as the property and business it is today. Through the tender, caring tutelage of Janet and Alan Arseneaultm, they have literally grown their dream with their  gorgeous country estate studio,  that pampers brides and grooms to the max. It is so calming upon your arrival, to set foot on their immaculate, manicured grounds; we can only imagine how soothing it makes  brides, grooms and their wedding parties feel. Everything here is luxe, lush and relaxing- like a time long-ago but with all the modern technological advances tucked discreetly away from the eye.

This was a life-goal for this innovative couple, who took a gamble and bought country land and became “farmers” of photography. The flowers, the creek, the décor, the beach area, the wrapped decks and their studio are a one-stop for picture-taking. Weather is no longer a factor on anyone’s wedding day anymore, and they can even drive a T-bird or a fire engine in through their heavy antique doors for shooting purposes. If you want a particular picture with something you cherish, whether small or large, Chalet will make it happen for you.

Both Janet and Alan have their own strengths in this business and as a happily married couple, they work in tandem to create pictures of extraordinary beauty. It is a wonderful lifestyle they are enjoying and it speaks volumes to their commitment to living life to the fullest.

If one thinks of Alice in Wonderland, this is the ultimate in falling down the rabbit hole right into a wonderful, personal experience that any couple would be thrilled with.

Chalet Studio also welcomes family and children’s shoots, pets, graduations and any other celebratory milestones of your life. They have followed families from their engagements to their grandchildren, making them a generational business.

We wish them every success in all their future endeavours and cannot wait to see their property in the next five years, as their grounds continue to mature and, they continue to add more of their unique touches to this outstanding palette. They have a wedding playground in exquisitely good taste for every theme and personality.

The Wedding Guide is proud to have showcased Chalet Studio from their beginning, over 18 years ago. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.

Wedding Perceptions- AP Poll, Ceremony is favourite

A quick note about the perception of weddings by men and women.

loniceremony

In order of preferences: Watching the ceremony, the music and dancing, the food, brides gown, toasts and speeches, cutting the cake, seeing the bridesmaids’ dresses, throwing the bouquet, throwing the garter and, lastly the receiving line. Women loved the ceremony best, followed by seeing the bride’s gown. Men loved the food at the reception. The least favourite part of wedding for women was the receiving line. The least favourite for men was seeing the bridesmaids’ dresses.

My oldest friend and I met when we were both young; I was just 3 – he was a little older. We both know back then that we were the sibs neither of us had, because we were both only children. Our friendship has been an non-irrirant-  being constantly in each other’s life and we love each other to bits  for this beautiful friendship. When I married for my 1st time in 1971, my friend was my number one choice for my maid of honour. We broke tradition way back then, when everyone around us, was marrying in the same manner as their mother had previously; most traditional and predictable. And the evolution continues today in so many ways and styles than we ever could have imagined. Who knew that personalization and doing something unique would become the norm?

A few years ago, and after a long marriage ended, my friend met and fell in love with his wonderful bride, Sharon and the rest is history. They were planning a local wedding the last I spoke with them at the bridal show and then, suddenly we got an invitation to view their ceremony, live from the Flamingo Vegas- in beautiful Las Vegas. The message read: we didn’t want to wait any longer!

Friday was the day, and Sharon walked through the gorgeous, verdant gardens on the hotel grounds looking like the happiest woman in the world. Standing to greet her at the end of the path, near a fabulous, palm tree, she and Graham pledged themselves to each other and it was as beautiful as any wedding I had ever been to!

We watched in real time and it was such a pleasure being able to “be there” as it happened. Thanks you two for being so resourceful and sending your day to u s so we could share in your happiness. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world!

Whether you’re marrying at a destination far from home or you’re home and some of your favourite people can’t make it to your destinationa because of various circumstances, hook up a webcam and celebrate. There’s nothing like a milestone and even if you can’t be there in “person”, you can be there in full view!!

Bring on the mitzvahs (celebrations in Yiddush) and share it in style. What a wonderful way to be inclusive and sprinkle your happiness throughout the world of the ones you love.

Until later,
