Boudoir Photography Making a Strong Resurgence

In the 90’s, Boudoir Photography was a new trend that had some strength but not enough to sustain its growth.
Now in this age of personalization, and brides wanting to make a statement about who they are and their relationship with their fiancé, it is once again becoming a popular component of the engagement period, as a weddng gift to their grooms. It is a chronicle of this time in your life and something that will preserve the memories.

Where else can a bride-to-be go and be constantly told she looks beautiful and have the opportunity to give a priceless gift of this time in her life? It’s a great time to have it done and the taboo of “risque” no longer applies.

If this is something that you want to do, there are many photographers in this area who do a great job with this type of shooting.
You may even want to ask if they do Boudoir Photography Parties for a group of your close women friends. It’s a great way to get all your female attendants or friends together for a night out, during this busy time in your life. Itis safety in numbers and a fun and innovative excuse to get together for an evening.

As a trend, it is fun, flirty and definitely a personal gift to your future spouse.

Weddings Windsor, Ontario, Unique is In!

I have been reading about 2013 Wedding trends and the trend is continuing with unique, signature-style weddings . With the influence of year’s gone by, the style is moving toward varied venues,  which are not necessarily less expensive, but certainly are more intimate and personal. A back yard tented affair is more easy-going for everyone. Your guests are more relaxed and it can be a great and moderately priced entertaining choice,  or you can go all-out.

Perhaps decorating is the bride’s hot button and she goes all out to create their own space, unique to both her and her fiancé. Everyone has their own style.

We previewed covers for our current Wedding Guide over 6 months ago and agreed unanimously that the classic/elegant wedding was going to continue to emerge strong for 2013.

Veils of all lengths with embellished lace trim or a feather, jewel-clip or headband is the favourite choice for brides. No bride will be caught without something on her head as the choices are varied  for her.  Head pieces and Fascinators will also continue to be strong as  they makes a statement and are more fun to wear and look at than the long veils of your mother’s day.

Looking ahead to bridesmaids dresses, and we have all been there; there’s more freedom to having the bride pick her colour and letting the attendants buy their own styles, and meld the look together as one.  The only key is to make certain that the styles are all either formal or informal. The two looks together won’t  work!

There are more emerging trends that deserve to be watched. Ball gowns that flow like Scarlet’s wardrobe in Gone With the Wind, outdoor weddings on farms, vineyards, zoos, old train stations and local white sandy beaches.  We are seeing balloons come back strong as well as paper lanterns.  Gloves which we haven’t seen in 15 years are staring to appear in all styles and lengths.

Bright colours are in – rich hues in gem colours such as a the colour of the year Emerald promises to be popular. Royal purple continues its luxe feeling for the many wedding themes.

To everyone planning a wedding; there has been no time as exciting as right now for your wedding day. The sky’s the limit, the mood is fun and friendly, and you have every option in the world to say ” I do” your way.

Is Your Wedding in Windsor, Ontario? From The Wedding Guide Windsor/Essex County

The Wedding Guide follows the trends and when I came across this post last week of a balloon bridal gown, I wasn’t surprised. With a tremendous amount of personalization taking place in today’s celebrations, it was inevitable that someone would make one. I couldn’t track down who is in the picture but without luck. I do like to give credit when possible.

The colours are pastel and, remind me of a big, birthday bridal gown.

Can you imagine the precarious moments that could be endured in a dress that could pop in a moment’s notice? I did find it fun though; always as much fun as the gown designed last year from toilet tissue.

What makes life’s milestones so much fun and full of rememberences are the little things that you do to make your day, your own.

As long as it feels right and it’s done the way you dreamed about- life will be a-ok.

Until later,

Sheryl Davies
