Perfect Pairing- A New Start! 10/10/10 Wedding!

Tammy’s Blog!

Sorry for the big gap, but LIFE has been crazy busy.  Last time I left you with a little intro, now to tell you how our love story begins.

I had just came out of a horrible, long term relationship (the only thing that came out of it, was my precious boys).Seven months later I had a stroke, full blown stroke, totally paralyzed on my right hand side,

There I was 32, a single mom and a stroke… I wanted nothing more than to hold my 2 yr old again, and play with him, after months of PT and OT. March 14, 2006 would change my life as I knew it forever, but for the good.  My oldest son woke me up during the stroke, I was growling in my sleep and I could hear myself, but I could not wake myself up.  ALL I heard was my almost 11 year old, screaming at me, MOMMY, wake up, please wake up.

I had a 95% recovery (which is what is called a full recovery). March 14, 2006 would change my life as I knew it forever, but for the good.  My boys were my determining factor in my recovery, and, I will be forever grateful to my oldest son.

After my recovery, I started dating again, and although it was fun, it wasn’t the lifestyle for me.  I wanted my one and only knight in shining armor.  I dated a few guys, and while I was dating them, I frequented one of the local meat markets (no pun intended; really they sold meat!) :) .

I saw this ‘guy’ from a distance and I thought he was cute, not sure what came over me, I immediately got the shakes, so while I was dating the other guys, I would to the market at least once a week to see him.

In the middle of December, I had enough with the online dating scene, and the dating scene period. On January 1, 2007, I was outside smoking (yes, even after my stroke) and, I was having a talk with GOD. I asked him to send me my prince charming, that night.

I went to bed and decided to delete my profiles on the dating websites in the morning.  Well I got busy in the morning and the morning turned to the night, and before I finished deleting my profile, I was messaged by someone.  He seemed sincere, and nice.  I answered him….he apologized for not having a posted picture for me to see, and asked if I had MSN; which I did. As soon as I saw him, I screamed. OMG he was the cute guy from the meat market! I typed him and gave him my phone number immediately (something I had never done).

We talked until the wee hours of the morning and had our first date the next night, when he told me he loved me within the first two weeks of dating. I knew then that he was the one!

My boys were born on April Fools’ Day and Halloween. His son (from a previous relationship) had a unique birthday of September 11, so I decided on our wedding date; 10-10-10.

Ernie always said he wouldn’t marry a smoker (I quit on June 16, 2008), and he proposed to me the day before his birthday (October 3, 2009)  He brings me sunshine to each and every day and he is the best father figure to my boys.

So our big date is 10-10-10.  I am so excited and will be writing more so watch for it! That’s all for tonight.

Cheers!
