Wedding Workshop a Success! The Wedding Guide Sponsors 3rd Consecutive Year

As a sponsor of the 3rd annual Wedding Workshop at St.  Clair Centre on  Thursday, October 21, we tip our hats to the organizers, A Perfect Day Wedding  and Event Planners, Cristina and Richelle, who skillfully put on this  SWEET evening-as SWEET as these cupcakes!!! Thank you for your efforts in bringing  this forum to Windsor/Essex County brides and grooms.

This was a new location this year and a great move to accommodate more  brides-to-be. St. Clair Centre, with its gorgeous view was a great place to showcase wedding professionals and make the event feel very special; like a wedding!

My role besides being a  valued sponsor (thank you ladies!) was to talk to the assembled audience of brides, grooms, moms and maid of honours, about emerging wedding trends that I’m spotting for 2011.  The audience was fixed on the conversation and they made a point to come up to me after the speeches to discuss my findings.

It is always terrific to hear the feedback immediately and I want to thank everyone, who took the time to ask their important questions, discuss their upcoming weddings and compliment The Wedding Guide and the very important role that it plays in bridal planning in this region.

The Wedding Guide has proudly been serving area brides for over 19 years and, we provide all the answers to the questions that are asked every t ime a wedding is hosted.

We're Taking About Wedding Locations

Twenty years ago, there was no thought as to where a wedding and a reception would be held. Religious institutions were the official ceremony sites and  their community halls hosted all the receptions.

With dramatic changes in society and how things are done, today there are many more options. From yachts to sandy beaches with glimmering sunlight, to museums, zoos, wineries and county clubs; brides have more choice than their mothers could ever imagine. Destination weddings have also become very popular in the last five years.

Themes are also paramount in wedding planning, and the sky is the limit to what uniqueness can be achieved with a good idea and out-of-the-box thinking. From Hollywood sets to medieval themes, brides and grooms-to-be are having the time of their lives matching their lifestyles and personalities to their receptions.

From florals, food, invitations and fashion, today’s  weddings have taken on a whole new face. Guests marvel at the Monday morning water coolers, when they describe the weekend weddings they attended. Celebrations today are fun, unique, engaging and energizing; and for the guest they are most definitely a treat to attend.

Now if you are a bride and thinking that all you ever wanted was a simple, traditional affair, don’t let anyone sway you.

Traditional never goes out of style and what goes around comes around. Weddings are wonderful because no two are alike and they are dictated by the families, customs and personalities of the people hosting them.

Remembering the reason to marry is to spend your life with the person you love, planning sets the stage for the life you will be living in the future. Do it your way and put the touches you want on it and it will truly be a memorable event in your life.

Wedding professionals are there to assist you in translating your dreams into realities. Ask for references and employ their services if, and only if, you feel comfortable that they can do the job you want. Ask for references and talk to people candidly about the services that they received. Based on your research you will find someone compatible and at the budget you are seeking.

“Good plans shape good decisions… good planning helps make elusive dreams come true.” Lester R. Bittel
The moment you accept a marriage proposal, your wedding planning becomes a reality. You may have a good idea of exactly the kind of wedding you want, but you may need some concrete ideas to help you to define your style before you make any decisions.

Solid information and protocol will help to keep you organized and, most importantly will also provide you with all the answers to all the questions that are asked every time a wedding is hosted.

The most important challenge to your wedding plans is to set and keep a budget. This is paramount to keeping your finance in line. It is easy to overspend when you start to make your appointments with all the vendors. Being realistic and knowing your limit will reduce your stress and make your day a success.

Be sure to check out the timetables, checklists, wedding budget calculator, financial obligations and many more tips, to assist you in staying on track. These are all downloadable files that you can print out and insert into your 3- ring binder and refer to, throughout the planning process.

Wedding coordinators offer many skills and services that will save you time from concept to completion, when you are planning your spectacular day. Their expertise in negotiating with suppliers is invaluable to you as you begin to plan the most important celebration of your life. They make all or some of the arrangements for your wedding – from invitations, catering, limousine rides – to entertainment, rentals, flowers and decorations. They intimately know local suppliers and can offer you their knowledge and expertise in any area of wedding planning. They are familiar with current trends and welcome unusual requests, such as unique site selections, or calligraphied invitations. A good wedding coordinator will be at your side throughout your planning and on your wedding day.

Your day, your way is the most important aspect of all the planning that you will do. Spend the time talking with your fiancé to make certain that you both have the same expectations. Being a team during your planning is a warm-up to your future.
