Security and Your Wedding Reception

Wedding season is here and your special day is getting closer.   I penned an article this week, on this blog  about being ready for any scenario, however it has been a number of  years since I discussed  a possible theft could occur right under your nose with all your guests assembled.

Don’t become a statistic as the couple who were  robbed of their wedding envelopes during the reception. I’m certain that during all their planning, no one had thought that there would be a thief among their gathering. Halls and receptions sites are open to the public and anyone can access your party.

When speaking with your wedding coordinator at your respective venue,  ask them about a lock-up for your money and gifts, and ensure that someone you trust in your group of friends or family will be responsible , until that point in time. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

It breaks my heart that such a tasteless act can occur, but it is today’s reality.  The best thing to do is be prepared. And, if you have a notable guest list, you may want to hire a security person to patrol your room until the end of the evening.
