Webcasting Your Cyber Wedding

My childhood friend found the love of his life in Sharon,  and married her on  in the beautiful gardens of the Flamingo Vegas. I wish them all the happiness in the world- they are a terrific couple and I am happy that fate found them and matched them together.

My wedding webcast invitation came 2 weeks before the wedding and I was intrigued by how the broadcast would look. Watching Sharon ,who was a radiant bride walk through the stunning gardens on the Flamingo property in Las Vegas was like a fairy-style story in happiness. The flowers were abloom, the gardens manicured and lush; and the entire venue was so special, that no  amount of decorations would have made it look one iota better. This spot that they picked to marry was elegant and stately.

Sharon followed the path gracefully, almost lilting with happiness and met up with Graham. They were married with beautiful words by an officiant who made the entire ceremony oh so special.  I am glad they found their happiness together.

Graham was my Maid of Honour at my first marriage many years ago. We have had a special friendship throughout all these years and  I changed the rules when it was unheard of to have a male take that role of MOH.

We watched their ceremony in real time and it was such a pleasure being able to “be there” as it happened. Thank you two for being so resourceful and sending your day to us so we could share in your happiness. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world!

Whether you’re marrying at a destination far from home or you are home and some of your favourite people can’t make it to your destination because of various circumstances, hook up a webcam and celebrate. There’s nothing like a milestone and even if you can’t be there in “person”, you can be there in full view!!

Bring on the mitzvahs (celebrations in Yiddish) and share it in style. What a wonderful way to be inclusive and sprinkle your happiness throughout the world of the ones you love.

Wherever you decide to get married, if there are people who you know are unable to make it to you for whatever reason, this web-based solution adds so much joy to the people who are close to you. It is a small thing to do with a webcam and a computer but it makes such a difference. Real time ceremonies show the emotions, the happiness and the excitement of this milestone called a wedding.

Use what ever is available to link the ones to you because they really do want to share and you’re facilitating it will make the day special for everyone.

Now, when they return we can all reunite; hug, kiss and have a party to commemorate this wonderful milestone called “the beginning of the rest of their life.”

Note to self… If anyone is off to a destination wedding or even if they are being married locally, remember the ones who physically can’t be with you and know they really really do want to participate in their happiness.
