“One year of joy, another of comfort, and all the rest of content.” John Ray: English Proverbs, 1678
The feeling of beauty emanating from a radiant bride is the joy of every wedding participant. Social changes over the last two decades have changed some of the rules of bridal etiquette and they are as follows:
Any bride can wear a long, white or coloured gown no matter how many times she has been married or what age she may be.
A veil and train should only be worn for a first marriage because they symbolize youth and innocence. If you are an older first or second time bride, select a beautiful hat, fascinator or a unique floral arrangement in place of a veil.
The mother of the bride and her attendants should never wear a gown longer than the bride’s.
Today, white and ecru wedding gowns are the most popular choices of brides, however coloured and printed gowns are gaining in popularity. We are seeing lots of lace!
