Your Attendants’ Duties

Maid or Matron of Honour:

Bride’s right-hand woman

Responsible for her own gown and accessories

Keeps record of shower and wedding gifts

Acts as official witness

Unofficially calms the bride’s nerves

Helps bridesmaids on wedding day

Rearranges train before recessional

Holds bride’s bouquet during ceremony

Cares for bride’s things at ceremony and  reception

Bridesmaids

Generally responsible for their own gowns

Assist in all pre-wedding festivities. 

Run last-minute errands.

On the day of the wedding, be available to confirm flower delivery times

meet and greet your officiant

Ring Bearer  

Walks down the aisle carrying the ring or a substitute secured to a satin pillow

Flower Girl

Precedes the bride, tossing paper petals or fresh flower petals down the aisle

Her dress complements the brides maids’ dresses

Best Man

Groom’s right-hand man and problem-solver

He’s responsible for his tuxedo

In charge of groom arriving on time

He sees that ushers’ function runs  smoothly

Gives the toast and special speeches at ceremony and reception

Pays the officiant’s fee

Keeps rings , license, and, where applicable, honeymoon  tickets in a safe place

Acts an MC at the bridal table

Plans for reception exit transportation, if applicable

 

Ushers

Responsible for their own attire

Involved in all ceremony festivities

Greet guests at the ceremony,  and seat them accordingly. Tradition dictates that the bride’s family and friends sit on the left of the aisle and the groom’s on the right.

Usually two of the ushers unroll the aisle  runner if applicable
